The Uxbridge market at a glance
Uxbridge sits about 30 to 40 minutes north of Highway 401, in the hills of the Oak Ridges Moraine. It is rural and semi-rural, a distinct market from the Durham lakeshore cities. The town itself has a walkable historic core along Brock Street, the Roxy Theatre, the York-Durham Heritage Railway and a handful of newer subdivisions. Around it are country properties, hobby farms, equestrian land and larger estate homes. Uxbridge is known as the Trail Capital of Canada for its network of hiking and mountain-biking trails through Durham Forest, Walker Woods and Glen Major.
There is no GO Train, only GO bus service, so the buyer here is usually not a daily downtown commuter.
